The idea for SITKA Gear, founded in 2005, came out of a thoroughly unpleasant hunting trip: 3,000 vertical feet in the dark, peppered with pounding sleet, and intermittent snow flurries. The discomfort of wet, cold, and sweat on that climb, the founder concluded, was entirely unnecessary. SITKA Gear uses advanced technology in all their fabrics, construction, materials, and product design to bridge the traditional divide between mountaineering, climbing, and hunting gear. The aim is to allow outdoorsmen to be immersed in the hunter’s experience, rather than being overly and unnecessarily distracted by the elements.
